What I Learned From Chatbots and IF
Published by Jeremy Douglass June 13th, 2005 in Uncategorized, IF, bots, News.Recently I came across “All I Really Need to Know I Learned in Video Games.” It was about First Person Shooters (rather than video games generally), but it was a fun read - I’m looking forward to the Part II. It also got me thinking:
What are the “all I need to know” lessons that we learn from Interactive Fiction? From chatbots?
I’d love suggestions for items on either (or both) lists in the comments below, with the goal of compiling a list - also, references to any existing lists out there - humorous or not. I always find the best items on “Everything I Learned” lists satisfying because they contain a grain of truth about a certain paradigm or attitude towards life. Maybe if we assemble a good list there is a CafePress t-shirt or poster project in here somewhere….
