Halt! State your Business!

Saw this Error Message Generator on Drew Davidson’s blog and couldn’t help but create some popups that a user / interactor / operator / reader / vuser / viuser / wreader / player etc may come across:

Error - Stop Creating: Hey reader, the author didn't spend months writing and programming for you to imagine your own story -- follow the links provided and at least look like you're immersed. 1. Sorry, I'm a bad reader 2. Sorry, I'm a bad reader

Error - Take a Chance: Since you haave no idea what is going on in the story or how the interface works we have decided to offer you this handy choice: 1. Accept all (fictional) downloads 2. I'm boring and clueless

Error - Your choice: You've got two options and two options only. Don't even think about clicking any other button or going to any other site. Don't even get up from your chair or answer that phone call. Just pick ONE of the TWO options we've provided for you to enjoy the feeling of choice. 1. Left 2. Right (not available)

Error - This is a Computer: Whoops! Didn't mean to interrupt your story... 1. uijv 83%@09p7iu8 2. 4858#@59rgdi00

These aren’t too far off the actual experience… wanna add one?

    What fun. Here’s another:

    Error - Lateral Thinking Error

Excellent - I enjoy generators in general. This puts me in mind of one of the things that has always bothered me about overbuild GUI interfaces to what are essentially command-line tools - that things like modal dialogs are extremely intrusive, the more so when one has an expectation of control….

    Error - Focus Lost
